Hi, I'm Emily Ekegren — founder of Light & Loom Virtual Assistance, Navy veteran's spouse, homeschool mom of two boys, and a woman who has built a life out of showing up faithfully wherever God has planted her.
For years, that meant following my husband's career across the country and around the world, building a home in new places, finding community from scratch, and homeschooling our boys through it all. What looked like a season of "just" being a wife and mom was actually a masterclass in adaptability, resourcefulness, and getting things done — with grace, and usually without a roadmap.
Homeschooling taught me budgeting, curriculum research, time management, and the kind of organizational discipline that only comes from managing a household and an education simultaneously. Living globally taught me to think on my feet, communicate across differences, and build systems that work no matter where you are.
Now, as my boys are growing and a new season unfolds, I'm channeling everything those years shaped in me into something I've felt called to for a long time — serving other women who are building businesses that matter.
Light & Loom Virtual Assistance is my next chapter. And I couldn't be more ready for it.
I'm not just passionate about this work — I'm prepared for it.
My background includes two years as a receptionist and operations support at a local spa, where I managed client communication, social and print media, booking software, supply procurement, and day-to-day business operations. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Art and Religion from Liberty University, and I'm a Canva Essentials Certified designer — which means I bring both a creative eye and a faith-rooted perspective to everything I do.
